Suffer with Jesus
Jesus comes down to all of us here who are lost in the wilderness, who are wandering in darkness. Like a kind stranger, he comes toward us and takes us by the hand and points and says, “Look, Look.” And he peels back the curtains of death and pain and beyond all that gray he shows us a flame that burns with the brightness of ten thousand stars. It is the flame of God’s love. He asks us, “Do you see it? Do you see it?” And before we can comprehend what we see, and before we can respond, he lets go, and the curtains roll back like a shadow, like a veil. He begins to walk away, descending back down into the darkness. But just before he is out of our sight, he turns back and looks us right in the eyes and says, “Follow me.”
If you do, you will find that the life you save may be your own. It could be ours, too.
